THE WORKFLOW

From dataset to finished scene.

Keep your Gaussian Splatting workflow local, visual and controllable — without cloud processing or a complicated command-line setup.

Images or COLMAP

Import an existing COLMAP dataset or start directly from an image folder. Integrated COLMAP processing handles reconstruction, with orientation profiles and visible camera registration.

One continuous viewer

Inspect your dataset, watch training and explore the result in the same 3D viewport. Switch between Points and Splats, inspect camera positions and follow live updates, even with the camera stationary.

Reconstruction Area

Set an adjustable 3D boundary to focus training on the relevant part of your scene. Use it as a cutaway to inspect interiors; hiding the box overlay keeps the boundary active.

Refinement that continues

Set your target Splat count while pruning and densification keep refining the scene. Weak Splats can be recycled for supported detail, with Geometry Holder helping improve scene stability.

Training for your scene

Work with indoor, outdoor or mixed scenes and exposure compensation. Follow training progress and status directly in the workspace, with control over your target Splat count.

Local, from input to export

GPU-accelerated processing runs on your own PC. Datasets are not uploaded to a cloud service. Automatic project and output handling keeps the workflow organized; export your trained Gaussian Splat models for further use.

v0.1.1 A clearer workspace. A continuous workflow.Latest

Version 0.1.1 brings a redesigned workspace, a continuous live-viewer workflow and more control over reconstruction and Gaussian Splat refinement.

Redesigned interface

A refreshed Fluent-style workspace with clearer sections for dataset preparation, training settings and progress, keeping the 3D viewer at the centre of the workflow.

One continuous viewer

Move from dataset inspection to live training and model viewing within the same viewport. Switch between Points and Splats, inspect camera positions and follow the reconstruction as it develops. Live-refresh handling has been reworked so the preview keeps updating even when the camera is stationary.

Images-only reconstruction

Prepare a dataset directly from an image folder using integrated COLMAP processing. Choose an orientation profile and follow camera registration and point-cloud development in the live viewer.

Reconstruction Area

Define and adjust a 3D boundary to focus training on the relevant part of your scene. The same area also provides a cutaway view for inspecting interiors. Hiding the box overlay keeps the boundary active.

Continued refinement at the Splat target

Reaching the target Splat count no longer means simply stopping geometry refinement. Weak Splats can be recycled and replaced with newly supported detail while protecting measured LiDAR support. Targeted planar refinement uses evidence from multiple views to address suitable gaps in walls and ceilings — not blanket hole filling.

Update installation and existing licenses

The v0.1.1 installer supports updating an existing installation and is designed to retain valid activation on the same PC and Windows account. No license reset is required.

Lumina Studio remains in BETA. Thanks for the feedback and test datasets — they help shape each update.

v0.1 The first public beta.

The first public release introduced a local desktop workflow for users already working with photogrammetry, COLMAP or Gaussian Splatting.

  • Local Gaussian Splatting training for indoor, outdoor and mixed scenes, with exposure compensation.
  • Integrated real-time 3D preview and COLMAP dataset support.
  • Adjustable target Splat count, pruning and densification during training.
  • Geometry Holder for improved scene stability.
  • Training progress and status feedback, plus automatic project and output handling.
  • Export of trained Gaussian Splat models.
  • GPU-accelerated local processing — datasets are not uploaded to a cloud service.
  • A clean desktop interface for practical production workflows.
  • Images Only Workflow: generate a COLMAP dataset automatically from an image folder and use it for Gaussian Splatting training.
